Green Lemonade: Healthiest Juice Ever!

Ingredients for one serving

  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 4-5 stalks of green kale
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 SWEET apples
  • 3 inches or more of fresh ginger

The above amount is for one drink.  This is how I make it instead. I buy 3 heads of romain lettuce, 20 stalks of green kale, 6 apples, 3 lemons, and 9 inches of fresh ginger. I juice all of this and make approximately 64 oz of green lemonade. I then use the water bottles from Sam’s Club (the small ones, usually around 8 oz each) and I fill up eight of these empty bottles with the juice. I then store the bottles of juice in my freezer and before I go to bed, I take one out and put it in the fridge so that its thawed out by morning and ready to drink.

This works out the best because juicing is a pain to clean up afterwards so with this method, you only have to clean up once a week .  I could talk forever about why this is so damn healthy to do, but I’d rather you read up on it and see for yourself.  I got the recipe from the book below!

  1. Thanks! I am out to the store tomorrow to buy this one!

Also, just found a book called “Skinny Bi***” And it is definitely a funny, informative and blunt find for Women too get their minds on the right track to healthier eating habits (makes you re-think a few things). Luckily I have already incorporated several pointers before finding this, but I found myself laughing quite a bit.

2009, I am looking forward to see what this year brings. 🙂

  2. Please tell me what green kale is

  3. check out http://www.kuehne.de/en/Product_World/green_kale/index.php

it’s a leafy green vegetable similar to spinach. lots of vitamins and calcium!

  4. I find it very difficult to find good raw food recipes. Where should I look?

  5. Doesn’t the freezing & thawing part kill the enzymes in the juice? Have you done any research on this?

Could carrots be added to this recipe?

    Thanks

  6. good point Chris.. after further studying, it’s best to keep the juice in the fridge in a dark container so the light doesn’t destroy the enzymes, and drink the whole thing before the end of 3-4 days. Good work! yeah, I don’t freeze anymore.. I need to update that video :p

  7. Steve, I did my research on these ingredients and they are very good for you. By adding the romaine and the kale your body is getting a huge amount of vitas(list is too long to give) for like no calories. The lemon is a diaretic, the apples are good and a great soluble fiber. The ginger is something I never looked up before, but it is great for gastrointestinal track and it is a anti-inflammatory, but also helps with congestion, colds, and allergies. Keep up the great work 😉
